Presentation of Teacher Classroom Grants
School Board meeting, April 26, 2012
Awarding classroom grants to teachers in the FVSD has been a proud tradition of the FVEF for nearly 30 years. The Foundation has awarded approximately 340,000 in teacher/school grants since 1982. On April 26th, the FVEF presented some very special teachers and librarians with grants for the 2012-13 school year. Presenting the awards were Nicola Weiss, FVEF President, Joanne Lew, who administered the entire program, and a few of the hard working members of the Foundation. The group of amazing volunteers donated their time to continue this great tradition by serving on the Teacher Grant Committee.
This year there were 26 applications, including four from school librarians. After a long and careful review by each member of the committee, all 26 grants were funded totaling over $10,000 dollars. Our congratulations to each and every one of the grant recipients! These grants are funded through our Teacher Tribute program.
